The holidays can be a challenging time for many people like us, who love farm animals and are passionate about their protection. So many of our holiday traditions are centered around eating animals, and it can be hard for animal lovers to get behind them.
For that reason, a few years ago, we started our own Thanksgiving tradition, a vegan potluck open to all of our friends. Apparently, we were filling a big need, as we had over 200 attendees and so much food at our last event in 2019!
And it's not just about the people and food (but vegans really know their desserts!). We love celebrating the lives of our birds, and this year we will be throwing our Thank-a-Turkey Celebration, during our Thanksgiving day potluck.
Our potluck attendees get a chance to watch the turkeys enjoy their own feast of fruits, veggies, and greens. Just like for us, it’s a very special day for our birds as most of the year they are kept on very strict diets to keep them at healthy weights.
We hope to see many of you at our potluck this year, which will be held from 2 pm- 5 pm on Thanksgiving day.
Just bring a vegan dish and come prepared to spend the day relaxing at the sanctuary and watching all of the animals, but especially the turkeys enjoy the day.
